Q. How long can the Bali Hut lasts?
In Bali, the Bali huts have been used since 30 years ago and many still standing strong. Bamboo and palm Leaves have a very long life span.
Bamboo is a natural product and a feature of bamboo is that it may occasionally split and can fade to a grey colour. Most cracking is caused by the pressure difference of the air trapped between the nodes and the outside air. It is less of a concern in humid areas; the dryer the climate, the more likely it is to crack. Please note that splitting and cracking does not change the structural characteristics of bamboo and is more common in larger poles than in smaller poles. Cracking or splitting is a feature of bamboo and adds to the natural look of the product. To prevent greying of the bamboo you can coat the bamboo with a clear protector, however, this is not necessary.
